Skills Assessment
Before you can start using open lab hours or private lessons you’ll need to complete a quick Skills Assessment. This short, hands-on check ensures you’re comfortable and competent with basic studio tools and safety practices. It’s not a test—it’s a chance for us to confirm ether you can work independently and safely in the space or if your project can be completed in the private sessions you plan to schedule with us.
If you are new to the studio and have a specific project , your assessment session will give you an idea of how the studio is set up and if your project can be completed in the time you have scheduled.
To be eligible for studio lab sessions, you must have completed an introductory jewelry or metalsmithing course (either with us or elsewhere). During the assessment, you’ll demonstrate fundamental techniques like sawing, soldering, and proper tool use.
Once you complete the assessment, you’ll be cleared to purchase lab session packs and begin using the studio during open lab hours.
Our goal is to keep the studio safe, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone. We’re here to help you succeed—reach out if you have any questions or need a refresher before scheduling your assessment!
