4-Day Intensive Wax Casting Workshop with Alejandro Sifuentes

$528.00

Join us for a full immersive casting experience with renowned San Antonio metalsmith Alejandro Sifuentes and Sarah Sifuentes will join her father as they guide us through this fascinating process. This special four-day intensive offers hands-on instruction from an experienced duo who will guide you step by step through the traditional lost-wax casting process.

During the first weekend (April 11–12), students will learn how to carve wax models, properly sprue their designs, and prepare molds for investment. Your pieces will then be cast at  Sifuentes Metalsmiths in La Villita Downtown, San Antonio.

We’ll reconvene on Saturday, April 18, for a full day dedicated to cleaning, refining, and finishing your cast piece. Students will learn professional techniques for transforming a raw casting into a beautifully finished work.

The studio will also offer one additional open lab day during the week to complete details and bring your piece fully to life.

This immersive workshop is perfect for students ready to deepen their skills and experience the complete casting process from concept to finished metal.

Workshop fee (non-taxable): $528

Materials fee (taxable): TBD
(taxable and payable in the workshop) Class kit starts at $48 for wax, materials and tools . Fees for casting grain will be discussed on the second session since students can choose bronze or Sterling silver for their castings.

If you need to miss a class, we totally understand—but unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or transfers for missed sessions. Your instructor will ensure you’re caught up with the lesson plan if you missed one class. You may also use your open studio session to make up any time you miss during the course session.

Once a class has started, we’re not able to offer refunds or move you to a different session. That said, if we ever need to cancel a class on our end, you’ll receive a tuition credit that’s good for up to a year.
