Hollow Beads & Forms

$296.00

Want to add volume and dimension to your work — while keeping metal costs in mind? This class is all about building bold, lightweight forms through hand fabrication.

Students will explore the construction of hollow beads and dimensional forms, including rings, pendants, and foundational structures for lockets. We’ll focus on clean construction, thoughtful soldering, and creating forms that feel substantial without the weight (or expense) of solid metal.

The instructor will demonstrate multiple approaches to creating hollow forms — from hand-forming techniques to using the hydraulic press to expand possibilities in shape and structure. You’ll gain practical skills that translate directly into your personal jewelry practice.

Brass and copper materials for class samples are included in the cost of the workshop. Additional materials, including sterling silver for individual projects, will be available for purchase.

Perfect for students ready to elevate their fabrication skills and bring more sculptural presence into their work. This class meets weekly for 4 sessions.

Prerequisite: previous metalsmithing experience recommended, specifically soldering.

Instructor: Andrea Sepulveda

We’ve got you covered!

Tool kits are available to rent or buy from our tool shop and will be handed out during the first class—easy peasy. Basic materials are included, and if you need extra, you can grab more from the shop anytime.

All students in this course get access to open lab once a week—just pick the day that works best for you! Need more studio time? No problem! You can add extra hours at a discounted rate with a studio membership.

Need to cancel? No problem—just give us a heads-up!

If something comes up and you need to cancel two weeks before the start date, we’ll provide a credit you can use toward another class or workshop.

If you need to miss a class, we totally understand—but unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds or transfers for missed sessions. For multi-week studio classes, you’re welcome to use open studio hours to make up any time you miss during the course session.

Once a class has started, we’re not able to offer refunds or move you to a different session. That said, if we ever need to cancel a class on our end, you’ll receive a tuition credit that’s good for up to a year.

Thanks for understanding—we’re excited to have you in the studio!
